We are absolutely thrilled to share a closer look at a brand-new, Easter-egg-inspired feature that just arrived in Power Rangers: Legacy Wars! If you are a die-hard fan of the franchise, you know that the bond between Rangers is what truly saves the universe. Today, we’re showing you exactly how we’ve brought one of the most iconic team-up moments from the television series straight onto your mobile screens.
A Legendary Nod to Super Megaforce
For players deploying Emma Goodall on the battlefield alongside her trusted teammate Gia Moran as an assist, your combat strategy just got a massive dose of Super Megaforce nostalgia!
When you use Gia as an assist, then successfully land Emma’s Guns Blazing on the opponent, a unique interaction unfolds. Instead of executing the standard final shot, Gia bursts onto the scene and swaps her blaster in exchange for Emma’s saber then Emma proceeds to unleash a barrage of double blaster fire power.
This high-octane sequence is a direct reference to the legendary weapon-swap battle from Power Rangers Super Megaforce Episode 1. We know how much the lore matters to this community, and being able to capture that exact dynamic energy between the Pink and Yellow Rangers has been an absolute blast for our development team.
Behind the Scenes: How It Works
Our community on Reddit caught on fast after noticing a brand-new status effect icon popping up in the last update! For those curious about the mechanics under the hood: this special variant of the move actively checks for a specific assist status effect on your team. When you use Gia as an assist, the game automatically swaps out the standard finisher for this spectacular team-up animation, complete with authentic audio pulled straight from Battle for the Grid!

Fun Fact from the Dev Floor
When we were designing this ability, we actually explored multiple weapon-swapping options from the show—including a version featuring the Blue Ranger! However, since Noah isn’t on the roster just yet, we perfected this flawless synergy between Emma and Gia. (And to answer a question from our internal playtests: no, we didn’t make Emma lay on the ground afterward like she does in the episode! She stays on her feet, ready to keep the guns blazing!)
